After twenty years of dedicated service to the community the firm evolved into Ross Both and Associates. Several years later a second title change created the current well known identity Wimmera Eye Care.

AND THE LATEST IN TECHNOLOGY:
Our digital retinal camera gives a high resolution image of the retina (the back of the eye). We obtain a highly magnified view, that will allow smaller abnormalities to be seen. The images are also used to note and document any changes in the various parts of the retina and optic nerve. It gives us a baseline from which to work. This is why we photograph your eyes every time you have an examination.
Zeiss OCT HD-4000
This is the top of the line instrument to give a highly magnified cross sectional image of the various layers of the retina. It is especially useful in early macular changes eg in Macular degeneration.
This device measures and plots the shape of the cornea, and is especially useful for high quality contact lens assessment and fitting. It also allows to measure and document any changes in the corneal chape, eg Keratoconus.
Visual Field Analysis
The Humphrey 750i Visual field analyser assess defects in the visual field, and is essential in glaucoma diagnosis and follow-up.
Eye care technology
-digital Retinal imaging
-auto-refraction and keratometry
-ocular coherence tomography
-digital retinal imaging (retinal photography for our record and your benefit)
-corneal topography (curvature and shape of cornea – especially necessary in contact lens assessment and fitting)
-auto refraction (pre-consultation computer controlled assessment of refractive error)
-keratometry (used for refraction assessment and for contact lenses)
-ocular coherence tomography (especially useful for macular degeneration, diabetes retinal assessment)
Lenses are fitted to frames on site
Fully equipped workshop with fully qualified technicians
Most lenses used currently are of different varieties of plastics.
The main advantage being plastic is much lighter and has better impact resistance than glass.
Plastic lenses can be readily tinted, and different refractive index materials offer different thicknesses, etc.
Our optometrists travel to towns around the Wimmera offering their professional services.
