HORSHAM Rural City Council will consider a formal plea to take over children's play centre Kids Capers.
Fiona Blair, the founder of an internet campaign to save the business following the sale of its current premises, has written to chief executive Kerryn Shade, Mayor Michael Ryan and all Horsham councillors.
Mrs Blair has requested council purchase the play equipment and find a new venue for the business.
She is also continuing to gauge interest for a community takeover should council be unable to assist.
Mr Shade said the letter would be discussed at a future council meeting for councillors to determine if it was council's role to run such an operation.
"Because it is a commercial business, that is probably unlikely," he said.
"There is no money in the current budget to fund this request but Kids Capers is a good asset for Horsham's families."
Mrs Blair said she had also written to Minister for Regional and Rural Development Jacinta Allan, Minister for Health Daniel Andrews, Minister for Sport, Recreation and Youth Affairs James Merlino, Minister for Children and Early Childhood Development Maxine Morand, Minister for Mental Health and Community Services Lisa Neville and Deputy Premier Rob Hulls.
She said she remained determined to find a buyer for the play cafe before it closed on August 16.
"It is the only place where children and families can be comfortable in all weather extremes," she said.
"Even in good weather parents can never relax at parks because none of them are fully fenced.
''At least at Kids Capers we can sit in the cafe and still keep an eye on our children but rest assured knowing they are safe."
A Facebook site set up by Mrs Blair called Saving Kids Capers Equipment And Finding A New Location has 709 members.
