A HORSHAM man who drove into a police officer at a road block on Black Saturday was found guilty of five charges in Horsham Magistrate's Court today.
Magistrate Tim McDonald found Donald Carter guilty of two counts of having assaulted a member of police in execution of duty, having failed to stop a vehicle when requested to do so by police, having hindered police in execution of duty and having resisted police.
Carter had pleaded not guilty in a trial in December.
Detective Sergeant Stephen Walker had tried to stop Carter from returning to his Golf Course Road home, which was under threat from the Remlaw fire.
Carter argued with Det Sgt Walker before returning to his car before attempting to drive through the road block, where he hit Det Sgt Walker.
Det Sgt Walker drew his firearm at Carter, while hanging onto the front of the car.
Tim McDonald adjourned the case and will announce a sentence for Carter at a later date.
