AN unprecedented number of residents and visitors took to the streets of Dimboola at the weekend to join in the town's 150th celebrations.
Committee president John Moar said it was impossible to estimate how many thousands of people had flooded in for the occasion.
"It was certainly more than I was expecting," he said.
"There were thousands of people, but just how many thousand is hard to tell."
He said Saturday's events in particular had drawn many people.
"It was excellent," he said.
"There were huge crowds around. There were so many people involved."
Mr Moar said in particular the street parade was a big success.
The street parade displayed vintage to modern vehicles including tractors, trucks, cars, motorbikes and floats from different organisations.
He said it was exciting to watch it come to life.
"The street parade was fantastic," he said.
"You don't know what it's going to look like when it's on paper. When you're out there you see it."
Mr Moar said other highlights included a `packed out' Dimboola Football Club 50th anniversary of the 1959 premiership and a bullock team.
He said Dimboola residents and visitors both seemed to enjoy the festivities.
"It was very positive," he said.
"There were excellent reactions from locals and visitors."
Mr Moar said many volunteers had worked together to create an unforgettable weekend.
"A lot of people pitched in to help, it was all volunteers," he said.
He said the event was a great way to celebrate Dimboola and all the things it could offer.
"It's just another activity which has raised interest in the town," he said.
"It's been very special."
