Hall committee secretary Dawn Hobbs said the hall had been well looked after over the years.

"It's a significant celebration because the hall has been going for a long time," she said.

"Most of the other halls have closed after a while but this one has still kept going."

Mrs Hobbs said the hall had had some recent touch-ups.

"We had some people through the Work for the Dole program come and do the landscaping and the painting of the inside of the hall," she said.

"It has been really well looked after."

Mrs Hobbs said some special guests would make speeches about Hamilton Lamb.

"Hamilton Lamb was a Member of Parliament who was killed on the Burma Railway in 1943," she said.

"With the celebration we want to let people know about the significance of this hall.

"We are hoping to get one of Hamilton's grand-daughters to also get up and give us a little talk about their grandfather."

Mrs Hobbs said the evening celebration would begin at 8pm.

"It will go until 11.30pm with the usual monthly dance that we have," she said.

"The hall has a really beautiful dance floor so we are hoping to get a good crowd."
