MORE than 150 people from across Victoria will attend a gala presentation night in Horsham for the Keep Australia Beautiful Victorian Tidy Towns Awards.
Winners of the 10 categories, including the Overall Sustainable Communities - Tidy Towns Award, will be announced at Horsham Sports and Community Club tomorrow.
Horsham Tidy Towns chairman Don Johns said Horsham would be packed with Tidy Towns delegates during the weekend.
"I have heard Horsham is completely booked out," Mr Johns said.
"It is not often that you get to host the state Tidy Towns Awards so we are looking forward to it, and it will be a great event for Horsham."
Horsham and Dimboola will carry Wimmera hopes in the main award, up against Ballarat, Beechworth, Hastings, Lake Boga, Orbost, Rutherglen and Yallourn North.
Thirty-eight towns from Yackandandah to Wandong will be aiming for Tidy Towns awards.
Other award categories to be announced will be the Community Pride Award, the Heritage and Culture Award, the Pam Keating Environmental Innovation Award, the Zero Waste Award, the Protection of the Environment Award, the Community Government Partnership Award, the Water Conservation Award, the Energy Conservation Award, the Young Leaders Award and the Proud Schools Award.
Each category has up to eight towns nominated for the award.
