WIMMERA residents will have the opportunity to learn from one of Australia's most recognised chefs next month.
Janelle Bloom will bring her culinary expertise to the Wimmera Machinery Field Days at Longerenong.
Bloom, a chef on Channel Ten show Ready Steady Cook and author of four cook books, will present cooking demonstrations in the Country Gourmet Pavilion each day of the event.
The field days - which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year - will be at the Wimmera Events Centre from March 6 to March 8.
Field days manager Murray Wilson said Bloom was well-known across the country.
"It is exciting for the field days to be able to host such a popular chef and successful cook book author," he said.
"We really strive to attract a high profile celebrity chef to the field days each year and we were rapt that Janelle did not hesitate when we offered her the opportunity to be part of 50th anniversary field days celebrations.
"It will be fantastic and really add to the profile of the field days."
Mr Wilson said Bloom was one of the original chefs on Ready Steady Cook, a show where two chefs pair up with two everyday cooks to make four food dishes in 20 minutes.
"We are looking forward to her bringing that energy and enthusiasm to the field days in 2012," he said.
Mr Wilson said Bloom would also promote her latest cookbook 'My Favourite Food for All Seasons' at the event.
"It will be a great opportunity for field days patrons to meet her and discuss her new book," he said.
"Janelle is really looking forward to being involved with the field days and meeting as many new faces as possible.
"She said she loved these kinds of shows because country people were so genuine and friendly."
