TRIBUTES have flowed in for father of three Ashley Stacey who died in a road crash on the Western Highway near Dadswells Bridge yesterday morning.
Mr Stacey, 44, of Horsham was a loving father and respected junior football coach for Noradjuha- Quantong Football Club and Horsham District Football League.
He is survived by his wife Maree and sons Jayden, Ryan and Riley.
Noradjuha-Quantong president Greg Francis said Mr Stacey would be forever remembered by the Bombers.
"He was small in stature but had a huge, huge, heart," Mr Francis said.
"Our loss is secondary to the loss of his family.
"He had a wife and three sons. Their loss is the real tragedy."
Mr Stacey died when his Horsham Concrete truck and a Holden Commodore collided on a straight stretch of the Western Highway west of Old Dadswell Town about 8am yesterday.
The driver of the Commodore, Andrew Ryan, 18, of Dadswells Bridge, was also killed.
Horsham Concrete part-owner Bruce Schilling said management and staff were shocked by Mr Stacey's death.
"We are just gutted," he said.
"He was a much-respected person in the sporting community but he was also a much-loved employee of our company.
"He was so fastidious in how he presented himself, how he handled his truck; he was an exceptional employee.
"We found out at 9am in the morning and sat around all day wondering how this happened."
Mr Francis said Mr Stacey, nicknamed Stacka, was irreplaceable to the club.
"He did so much work for our club. He loved his football and his family.
"He was pretty much the boss of our grounds and facilities.
"As a junior coach he was exceptional. He always taught his kids to never give up and to give their all to the game.
"You can't replace people like him."
District League chairman Fred Mellington said the league would sadly miss Mr Stacey.
"He coached his team to the last four under-14 grand finals," he said.
"In a sport that has such a high turnover of players, that was an amazing achievement.
"He was also an exceptional interleague coach for our league."
Mr Stacey was named Wimmera Junior Coach of the Year in 2007.
Wimmera AFL region manager Geoff Burdett said Mr Stacey played a role in the lives of many junior footballers.
"He took pride in developing young players," he said. "There are a lot of young players coming in Noradjuha- Quantong's senior team at the moment and most of them would have been coached by Ash. Everyone knows him as a great man who comes from a lovely family.
"His two sons are in North Ballarat Rebels' junior squads, Jayden in the under-17s and Ryan in the under-16s."
Dadswells Bridge is mourning the death of Andrew Ryan.
The Mail-Times understands Mr Ryan was completing VCE studies at St Brigid's College in Horsham.
Funeral details for Mr Stacey and Mr Ryan have not been announced.
