Twins to visit Horsham

18 Mar, 2011 10:10 AM
THE world-famous story of conjoined twins Trishna and Krishna will recapture the hearts of Horsham when the girls visit the city next week.

The girls, now 4, will be special guests along with their adoptive mother Moira Kelly at a Horsham East Rotary Club dinner at Horsham Sports and Community Club on March 27.

Club president Tanya Barnes said proceeds from ticket sales would support Ms Kelly's Children First Foundation, which improves the lives of disadvantaged children by providing health care, education and accommodation.

Ms Barnes said people could also support the foundation by donating the profits of sheep or lambs sold at Horsham sheep sales on Wednesday next week and March 30.

She said participating agents were Driscoll, McIllree and Dickerson, Elders, Landmark, Rodwells and Brian Simmonds.

"If people wish to donate to this very worthy cause they will need to complete an authorisation form instructing their agent to direct the proceeds of the number of sheep or lambs they nominate to go to the Moira Kelly Children First Foundation," she said.

"All donors will receive an official receipt from the Children First Foundation which is tax deductible."

Ms Barnes said Ms Kelly would speak about her work with the foundation during the dinner, which would begin at 6pm.

She said Ms Kelly's adopted son Emmanuel Kelly would perform several songs on the night after making his debut at the Horsham Country Music Festival on the Saturday.

Ms Barnes said tickets to the dinner were $60 and anyone wishing to attend could call Horsham Sports and Community Club on 5382 6262.

"The Children First Foundation is a highly-regarded charitable organisation which cares for children from overseas with complex health issues," she said.

"Moira Kelly has received numerous international, Australian and community awards in recognition of her outstanding humanitarian work and we are very pleased to welcome her to Horsham."

Ms Barnes said people could call Geoff Eagle on 0428 433 657 or Lyall Wheaton on 5381 1995 for more information about donating lambs or sheep.
