Two Wimmera men have died in a crash between a truck and a Holden Commodore on the Western Highway near Dadswells Bridge about 8am today.
Truck driver Ashley Stacey, 44, of Horsham, and car driver Andrew Ryan, 18, of Dadswells Bridge, died in the crash.
Mr Stacey is survived by his wife and three sons.
Police at the scene called for anyone who may have witnessed the vehicles leading up to the accident to contact police.
Mail-Times photographer Kate Healy said wreckage from the crash was strewn across the highway.
She said the truck had come to rest in the west bound lane of the highway against a roadside wire barrier. A trail of debris leads to the Commodore `100 metres away'.
``All I can see of the white car is the boot and the back tyre, the rest is unrecognisable,'' she said.
Eight police cars, three fire trucks, ambulances and SES vehicles are parked around the scene.
The crash happened on a single-lane, straight stretch of highway on the Horsham side of Old Dadswell Town.
The Western Highway has been reopened after police closed the road for most of the day as the scene was cleared and crash investigated.
Roadblocks put in place at the intersection of McPherson Street and Baillie Street in Horsham to divert traffic along the Henty Highway and at Glenorchy turn-off on the Western Highway have been removed.
