HORSHAM Cycling Club will host former club member and Olympic cyclist Shane Kelly on November 14.
Kelly, 37, retired from international track cycling after competing in the Beijing Olympics.
Kelly, along with fellow Horsham road cycling export Mark O'Brien, will conduct a clinic for people of all ages before a sportsman's night.
Organiser Shauna Heard said the night would cost $30 to attend, with tables of 10 available, and would include a two-course meal.
Kelly and O'Brien will speak about their experiences and will be guided by master of ceremonies, Horsham sports personality David Berry.
Heard said anyone was welcome to attend the Kelly clinic with people required to bring a bike and a helmet.
Horsham Cycling Club member Geoff Witmitz said the night would be valuable to people from all walks of life, not just sportspeople.
"The night will not just be about cycling, Shane will talk about goal setting, life skills, and how he was supported by family and his local community," Witmitz said.
"Sport is not all about glory, it is also about how you come back from the low points and Shane had his fair share of those.
"You don't have to be into cycling, could be any sport or just life, it is all transferrable."
Heard said there would also be a sports memorabilia auction, including some items provided by Kelly, and there would be lucky door prizes.
Kelly is originally from Ararat and has competed with Ararat, Horsham and Stawell-Great Western cycling clubs.
He is a five-time Olympian, winning a silver medal at Barcelona in 1992, and bronze in Sydney in 2000 and Athens in 2004, and is a four-time world champion.
Heard said all money raised would go towards the club's Murray to Moyne fundraising campaign which goes to the Wimmera Health Care Group's Dimboola campus.
She said people wanting to book tickets or tables could contact her on 0417 313 270, president Stephen Kelly on 0439 820 480, or Sue Frankham at Wimmera Health Care Group on 5381 9309.
