Everett will take the helm of the Horsham District Football Club with Andrew Ellis, Alistair Ward and Daryl Eastwell as his assistants.
Ward returns to the club after one season with Dimboola in the Wimmera Football League.
Newly-appointed Tigers president Wally Dumesny said the club was excited with its coaching set-up.
"Matt made good inroads with our young side this year and the team finished off the second half of the season quite well," he said.
Mr Dumesny said Everett signed a one-year deal, with the option of extending it to two.
He said Everett, Ellis and Ward would be playing coaches, with Eastwell helping out in a non-playing capacity.
"Al had a really good year at Dimboola and is fit and raring to go, he's burning up the track already," he said. "Andy came back from overseas last season and finished off the second half of the season in fine fashion and Darryl helped out a bit last year and was fantastic."
Mr Dumesny said the club would also welcome back dual premiership player Paul Leslie.
He said they hoped to add further players in coming weeks.
"The club is currently in negotiations with two to three key recruits and hoping to sign them in the new year," he said.
Mr Dumesny said Warren Haby and Bryson Baker were reappointed as reserves coaches, with Brendan Hamerston at the helm of the under-17s and Danny Hamerston the under-14s coach.
Brett Thompson will co-ordinate the club's Auskick program.
Mr Dumesny said the club lost two key players to Wimmera Football League clubs, Tim Ballinger to Minyip-Murtoa and Jarred Martin to Warrack Eagles.
