Knights, about to start his third season as Bombers coach, joined new Minyip-Murtoa coach Hayden Lanyon in taking the Burras for the session at Murtoa.
Lanyon said it was sensational.
"It was a great night. We had about 35 blokes on the track," Lanyon said.
"Thirty of them would have been senior players, which is a promising sign."
Lanyon, who was appointed Burras coach last month, said it was invaluable for him being able to bounce ideas off an AFL coach.
Knights took the warm-up and some drills, while Lanyon took the rest of the drills.
Lanyon said the session would prove valuable for the Burras as the season wore on.
"There were a few things Matthew took us through that I will enforce in the second half of the season," he said.
Minyip-Murtoa senior player Chris Delahunty said it was a great experience.
"It was sensational," Delahunty said.
"It was an amazing experience to be coached for a session by a current AFL coach.
"What the club can take away from the session with Matthew will be invaluable to both the coaching and playing staff for the coming season.
"The fact that he took the time to speak to individuals about certain aspects of their game was really proactive and a huge buzz for everyone involved, especially the juniors."
Minyip-Murtoa fitness coach Aaron Davis organised the session through club sponsor Bashukway Travel.
Davis said Knights stayed for a barbecue dinner and spoke with members and players and that it was a valuable experience.
"All who attended enjoyed interacting with the fun and professional Knights as he opened the door into his world by giving a greater understanding of the game at the elite level," he said.
