The grant from GrainCorp was announced on Friday night at the Murtoa Arts Show in Murtoa Hall and means the football club can now start the $190,000 project to replace the 85-year-old change rooms.
Minyip-Murtoa Football Netball Club president Andrew Delahunty said it was a sensational effort on behalf of GrainCorp and the town was happy with the news.
"We've been getting the money together through State Government grants from the Country Football and Netball Program and the Victorian Agriculture Society, but the money from GrainCorp has got us over the line," he said.
"Anyone who plays footy around the Wimmera knows the changerooms needed to go and we hope to have the new change rooms up and running by the start of football season.
"Everyone around the club is very keen to start after a couple of little things get sorted out," Mr Delahunty said.
Change rooms project co-ordinator Brian Storey praised GrainCorp's generosity and said he hoped the public announcement was be a great way to start the Murtoa Big Weekend.
