HORSHAM District Football League has turned to reigning dual premiership coaches Tim Wade and Josh Mibus to lead its interleague campaign this season.
League interleague co-ordinator Fred Mellington said it was a massive coup.
"We are very excited to have signed men of the calibre of Josh and Tim to the role," Mellington said.
"Josh is a former Vic Country representative and Tim is the reigning league best and fairest.
"Both have demonstrated their passion for interleague and representative football in the past and hopefully this will have a flow-on affect through the rest of the league."
They replace Tim Webb in the role, who stepped down due to work commitments.
Mibus and Wade co-coached Kalkee to the past two Horsham District Football League senior premierships.
They have handed the reigns to premiership team-mate Matt Beddison this year but will remain at the club as players.
Wade, who has played interleague football for the Wimmera, North Central and Horsham District leagues in his career, said he was looking forward to the challenge of leading the team.
"It's something different," he said.
"Josh and I are probably younger than most interleague coaches have been in the past, but I'm really looking forward to having a crack.
"I've always enjoyed interleague. It's a chance to play alongside blokes you usually play against. It's always good fun."
The league currently sits just outside the top 20 in the Victorian Country Football League Country Championships rankings.
Wade believes the league could climb higher.
"I don't think the district league deserves to be where we are," he said.
"In past years we've had a lot of players pull out. Hopefully this year we can get the best 21 players out on the field."
The pair will meet with Mellington this weekend to discuss their approach to the role.
Last season the league put out an open invitation to players to put their hands up to play at that level.
Wade expects to adopt a more traditional approach.
"We'll probably go back to the old letter system," he said.
"We'll do a bit of homework and invite the best players from each club to play."
The league plays Maryborough District Football League in Maryborough on May 26.
