03 Feb, 2012 08:54 AM
AUSTRALIA'S leading thoroughbred trainer Peter Moody will be the major drawcard to Ararat Harness Racing Club's meeting on Tuesday.

Moody trains current world champion sprinter Black Caviar as well as a large number of group and listed race winners.

Moody has a close connection with the Ararat Harness Racing Club through vice president Milton McKinnis, who is a long-standing friend and acquaintance of the very successful trainer.

The club is hopeful Moody's attendance will encourage a large number of patrons to come along and take the opportunity to meet with him and discuss the future plans of the gifted mare.

Black Caviar has won of all her 17 starts.

Moody has been a strong supporter of racing in the region, regularly sending gallopers to Wimmera tracks, most famously his unbeaten gelding Moment of Change which won by 10 lengths on debut at Murtoa.

One of the feature races of the night on Tuesday will be the Peter Moody Racing Pace, which will carry an inscribed rug sponsored by Moody Racing.

Moody will present the rug to the winning connections.

The meeting has a number of attractions with heats of the prestigious Tontine Series being run together with heats of the Victoria's Harness Racing Sport Club Provincial Cup and the Harness Breeders Victoria Pace, which carries additional $500 prize money donated by the Harness Breeders of Victoria.
