The Kees proved too strong in wet and cold conditions at Edenhope, winning 43 goals to 26.
Kalkee coach Melissa Beddison said a strong start set her side up for victory.
"It was a very good win," she said.
"We were switched on right from the start."
Beddison said she was pleased her side were able to bounce back from a loss to the Saints in their last match.
She said her side were desperate to win to get a second chance in the finals.
"It shows how much we've improved this season and gives us confidence going into the finals," she said.
"You just never know though, the other teams can step up come finals."
Hayley Reid and Paula Wiedermann were the Kees' best players.
Edenhope-Apsley coach Leonie Lang said her side would learn from the loss.
"It was a very physical game and we were just lacking the experience," she said.
"The girls will have learnt a lot from this match and it'll be closer next time."
Lang said an even final quarter showed her team could match it with the Kees.
Teagan Lang and Mandy Rentsch were the Saints' better players.
Edenhope-Apsley sits in third position, and could play Kalkee again in a qualifying final in a fortnight if both sides win their final home and away season matches this week.
Natimuk slipped back to fourth place following it's 15-goal loss to top side Noradjuha-Quantong.
Abbie Avery and Fiona Rowe led the way for the Bombers, with Jo Taylor and Zoe Hanson battling hard for Natimuk.
In other matches, Rupanyup scored its fourth win of the season with a hard-fought three goal win over Taylors Lake.
Bianca Tyler was best for the Panthers, and Grace Howden was the Lakers' best.
Pimpinio accounted for Great Western by 33 goals and Laharum romped to a 79-goal win over Swifts.
The top five teams are now set for the A Grade finals series, but with only four points separating teams in second to fifth places, teams will jockey for positions this weekend.
Noradjuha-Quantong have already secured the minor premiership and finish its home and away season against Laharum.
Kalkee, which has a superior percentage of teams in the running for a top three finish, can secure a double chance with a win over sixth-placed Pimpinio.
Edenhope-Apsley and Natimuk are on equal points with the Kees and face Rupanyup and Taylors Lake respectively this weekend.
