TAYLORS Lake Netball Club has put its wooden spoon season behind it and is building its A Grade list ahead of the club's 2012 Horsham District Netball Association's campaign.
The Lakers have appointed Andrew Bos as their A and B grade coach and have welcomed former Natimuk goal shooter Sarah Kelm.
Bos' daughter Grace has followed her father from Laharum to Taylors Lake.
Kelm, 33, spent five seasons with the Ewes.
The mother of two will join her husband Tim at Dock Lake Reserve.
"We have played at separate clubs for nearly 10 years," Kelm said.
"We have had another baby, we've built a house across from Taylors Lake Football Club, Tim has played there his whole life and his family members play there and he works away Monday to Friday driving trucks so we don't get to see each other much."
Kelm said leaving the Ewes was a difficult choice.
"It was sad to leave Natimuk because it's a great club and there is a lot of great people there," she said.
"But life's too busy and finally got too complicated to play at two clubs."
Kelm said she needed to regain her fitness and would be a late starter to pre-season training after giving birth to her son Dustin seven weeks ago.
She said she was unsure what grade she would play in.
"I'll play wherever they put me. I am not too fussed," Kelm said.
Bos said Kelm was the Lakers' 'gun recruit'.
"She is very experienced and very competitive as well," Bos said. "She'll be good for us."
Bos coached Laharum in 2008.
He said he was excited about his return to coaching.
"It's good to be involved in a team environment, trying to get players to improve and getting the most out of them," Bos said.
"When your own sports career finishes, you get pleasure out of others' performances."
The Lakers failed to win an A Grade game in 2011.
Bos said while injuries played a significant part in their fortunes, a focus would be placed on professionalism this season.
"We're going to be more competitive; we're going to be taking it more seriously," Bos said.
"Irrespective of results, we want to be more professional and need to do the work the top five do."
Taylors Lake's senior netballers will start pre-season training on February 9.
Players are to meet at Sawyer Park's sound shell at 6pm.
