SEVERAL Wimmera tennis players will contest a week-long tennis tournament in Swan Hill this week.
The 29th Tankworld-Rebound Ace Sports Victorian Country Tennis Association Country Week tournament will see teams compete in a round-robin format at the Swan Hill Lawn Tennis Club.
For the Driscoll family, originally from Navarre, taking part in the tournament is the perfect family get- together.
Marcus Driscoll said he would be joined in a grade B2 team by his three brothers, while his sister would also play in the women's section.
He said with his family would travel from Stawell, Nhill and Ballarat to reunite for the tournament.
It is the fifth year the family has taken part in the event.
"The first year we won it and we've made the semi-finals the past couple of years," he said.
"Our aim is just to get through the week and hopefully play finals, but the best part of the week is the social aspect."
Tracey Stewart of Stawell has entered a team in the women's C1 section along with friends with Kerrie Duxson of Horsham, Wendy Burkhill and Jess Brewster of Stawell.
Stewart said this was the fifth time the team had competed in the tournament.
"It's a fantastic competition, we always have a lot of fun," she said.
Victorian Country Tennis Association administrator Pat Gilchrist said the tournament had attracted 197 teams, consisting of more than 1200 players.
"Country Week is the biggest grass court event in the nation, if not the world," she said.
