KALKEE'S Central Wimmera Tennis Association premiership hangover continued when it suffered its fifth consecutive defeat on Saturday.
The Kees were no match for a slick St Michaels unit.
The Saints won 11 sets, 118 games to four sets, 87 games.
It was small revenge for the Saints, who lost to Kalkee in the 2008-09 season decider.
The Saints' men were dominant, losing just one set for the day, with Ian Nitschke and Nick Robertson winning all three of their sets, while Kassie Peachey won all of her sets.
For Kalkee, Debbie Lawson was the standout, winning all three of her sets.
St Michaels player Nick Robertson said they were pleased to come away with the victory.
"It was a good win, but in pretty tough conditions," he said.
"Kalkee is still obviously struggling to get its best team on the court."
He said the Saints' men had been strong.
"All our men played pretty well, but that is taking nothing away from our women who do their job every week as well," he said.
Temperatures soared during the afternoon, making conditions a big test for players, and it was also blustery on the Kalkee courts.
Robertson said players were drained after playing. "The heat was pretty exhausting and we were pretty happy to get off the courts at the end of the day," he said.
Robertson said the win did not make up for last season's grand final loss.
"Not at all, but it is good to get another win under our belt and keep things ticking along," he said.
The Saints have lost just one game this season, against the powerful Horsham Lawn combination.
Horsham Lawn maintained its unbeaten run with a comprehensive demolition of Warracknabeal, 13 sets, 125 games to two sets, 70 games.
Warracknabeal picked up two sets early in the piece and could not mount a challenge in the men's and women's draws.
Brad Krahe and Emma Koschitzke were the only players to taste success for Warracknabeal.
Drung South continued its strong form with a victory against a depleted Central Park line-up.
The Drungsters won 12 sets, 122 games to three sets, 60 games.
In other grades Haven Gold got home in a tough battle against Brimpaen in B Special.
Haven Gold defeated the reigning champions seven sets, 87 games to five sets, 69 games.
