WELL this is it. Australia the clever country. Maybe once, now we are the reverse.

This whole nation is now top heavy, with hardly a good idea to bless themselves with.
In all due respect to our current PM and government, you have been a disaster.
It’s 20 years since I wrote a letter like this. I never thought I would have to again.
Maybe we need to double their wage so we can get intelligent, forward-thinking, nation-building men and women into government.
We need to do something and quick. All the deals looking after this group and that group, this faction and that faction, all the time eyes off the ball – the ball, this great nation.
Never before in our lifetime has our country needed a vision.
Stop the fighting, stop the waste, stop the lies, stop this whole embarrassing mess.
We really need a new political group. Party to me is a dirty work. Imagine a government in power, governing for all people and at all times in the best interest of the nation.
Every dollar being spent wisely. Not selling our mining interest but developing them for the nation, by us, for us, owned by us.
China needs food etc, so we now sell our land to them. Ever heard the saying ‘don’t sell the back paddock’?
We should retain our assets, grow the food and sell it to them. We could pipe water anywhere, as well as roads and rail.
Our mining wealth is going overseas and we are not benefiting. It makes you wonder who is really running this country.
Our major cities cannot cope and yet the powers that be want to grow them by millions.
Talk about putting the cart before the horse. Put all their brains together and they would fit in an eggcup.
We should be proud to be Australian, respect one another and our community, not divided into groups.
One law for all, no exception.
Twenty-two million Australians, about half productive; many more could be by giving tax incentives – to businesses to employ more.
We all want more staff, but it is cost prohibitive. No-one should be unemployed in this country. If things were done right.
What a mess we find ourselves in. We all talk about it, and feel quite helpless. Now on top of it all another tax.
Global warming, I don’t believe it.
I believe there is more damage being done on the ground, as opposed to the air.
The chemicals being sprayed onto the ground and onto our food is more of a worry than anything else.
The GST was bad enough. But his carbon tax will not alter the course of the world.
This feel-good tax will cost countless jobs, loss of industry and manufacturing. Cost of living will skyrocket, it will create unnecessary hardship on everyone. For what?
To make a handful of our leaders and fringe groups feel good. It is an unproven science.
I really think Australians look after our nation as good as anyone. And guess what, it will still be here tomorrow with or without a tax.
It is time real Australians stand up and say enough is enough. If we sit back and continue to accept what this socialistic government dishes out, we are fools.
This new tax has passed through parliament and is to be introduced on July 1 this year.
I believe that we can stop it and demand an election by simple people power.
All every Australian has to do is flood the PM’s office with mail. Remember we all want responsible, honest, caring, visionary government.
So I don’t care who you vote for, what religion you are, what colour you are, this is for all Australians for all our futures, for our kids.
Responsible, honest, caring government.
In the next few weeks I will pick a week or month and ask every adult to simply address an envelope to the PM of Australia and write on the back:
We demand no carbon tax.
Election now.
Responsible government.
The people of the Wimmera and Mallee could help start a movement with enough publicity to change the course of our nation for the better.
Don’t laugh at this letter, I love my country and care enough about it to put my reputation on the line. It’s not asking much, only an envelope and stamp. It will work.
