GARY Radford was crowned Horsham City Bowling Club's singles champion on Sunday.
Radford, a pennant skipper, won the title with a 25-22 win against Jim Wright.
It is Radford's first singles title with the club, having joined from Rich River Bowling Club in 2011.
Club president and match marker Derek Ballinger said the match was played in perfect conditions on a 16-second green.
"Spectators were thrilled with tight heads and both bowlers had a chance to reach the 25 shots to win on the last end," he said.
Radford defeated Denis McIntyre, Tom Blair, Brian Phelan and Govan Bellinger to qualify for the final, with Wright beating Paul Hill, Kevin Clyne, Daniel Gloury and Jon Kane in the earlier rounds.
The club also played its pairs championships on Sunday.
Denis McIntyre, skip, combined with Govan Bellinger to win the title from Kevin Clyne, skip, and Brian Phelan.
The final score was 22-15.
Match committee chairman Tex Wardle said the 18-end final was a memorable one, with the score nine-all after nine ends and 15-all after 16 ends.
McIntyre and Bellinger, with precision draw bowling, scored a three and a four on the last two ends to clinch the title.
McIntyre and Bellinger defeated Alex McIvor and Jack Shearwood 15-7 in the semi-final, while Clyne and Phelan defeated Jim Wright and Ron Goudie in a cliffhanger - 12-11 - in the other semi-final.
