Pepper's ready for a new home

Having had a turbulent past, corgi cross bull terrier Pepper is ready for adoption.

With hair as white as snow, she is a beautiful dog with a friendly personality.

Horsham People for Animal Welfare and Support vice-president Guin Cleminson said Pepper would be a fantastic pet.

She said Pepper, who had been at the Horsham Pound for about two months, was five or six years old.

"She is absolutely fantastic with people, loves a bath and walks beautifully on the lead," she said.

"She is a really gorgeous dog and we are just looking for the right family.

"We are really looking for a single-dog home or a home that has an extremely placid animal."

Ms Cleminson said Pepper was cautious around other dogs after being attacked at her previous home.

"In her previous home the other dog was attacking her a lot so she is still emotionally scarred from that," she said.

"Pepper was surrendered by her owners because although she does not start the fight she will defend herself.

"At the moment, if a dog is too rough Pepper will think it is attacking her.

"But she is a wonderful dog that is really great with people."

Ms Cleminson said people interested in adopting Pepper could call Horsham Rural City Council animal rehousing officer Wayne Lane on 0417 517 048.

She said people could meet Pepper at Horsham PAWS' adoption day on Saturday.
