Horsham cyclists on tour

HORSHAM cyclist Mark O'Brien finished among the top 25 riders in the first two stages of the 2013 Jayco Herald Sun Tour.

The tour began on Thursday with the prologue at Williamstown.

The 147.7-kilometre first stage was from Sunbury to Bendigo on Friday, followed by stage two from Mitchelton to Healesville on Saturday.

O'Brien was in 24th spot after stage one and jumped one spot to 23rd during stage two.

O'Brien is part of the SASI Cycling-Feelgood Fitness team along with fellow Horsham cyclist Sam Witmitz.

Witmitz moved from 61st at the end of stage one to 49th overall by Saturday night.

The final 93-kilometre leg from Moonah Links to Arthurs Seat was due to finish last night.

This year marks the 60th edition of the tour.
