WIMMERA Offshore Anglers enjoyed a fantastic weekend of fishing during the Horsham Outboard Service Competition in Kingston, South Australia, on Friday and Saturday.
Strong winds forecast for Friday did not eventuate and most of the 17 participants spread among seven boats caught fish.
Saturday started off well before the wind picked up to 20 knots by midday.
Alan Spiers had the best catch of the day, reeling in a six-kilogram bronze whaler shark.
Greg Brown caught the biggest snapper at 1.5 kilograms.
The biggest flathead was caught by Gavin Whyte, with a 1.5-kilogram effort.
Fishing in 25 metres of water, Whyte showed other anglers how to catch good snapper on soft plastic lures.
Steve Barnes had a day to remember fishing with Ron Baker, landing the best whiting at 850 grams along with a massive 1.4-kilogram nannygai.
Amanda Hage was the pick of the juniors, catching a 100-gram garfish.
The next Wimmera Offshore Anglers event will be on January 25 and 26 at Robe and Cape Jaffa, South Australia.
