ECHUCA athlete Steven Gray continued his love affair with the Horsham Triathlon at the weekend, claiming his fifth long course title.
Gray ran, swam and cycled his way to victory in the warm conditions with a time of 1:01:24, edging out former Horsham man Chris Little by 16 seconds.
Ararat's Cameron Evans rounded out the placings with a time of 1:05:15.
About 200 people took part in the event at Sawyer Park, much to the delight of Horsham Tri president Mark Pumpa.
"We had a lot of children in the triathlon and duathlon which was fantastic," he said.
"It went really well and I'd like to thank the volunteers for making this event possible."
Pumpa said the decision to return to the Wimmera River was a successful one and hoped the event would be able to stay there for years to come.
Brydie Scollary won the short course triathlon over emerging athletes Zoe Nicholson, 16, and Campbell Gray, 12.
Enzo Grandinetti was victorious in the long course duathlon, beating his nearest rivals Hayden Maher and Sonya Colbert.
Kerrie Nolan claimed the short course duathlon title from Pagen Williams and Bianca Inkster.
WCMA was the premier male team in the long course triathlon, with Team Tripod the best mixed team.
The best of the open teams in the short course triathlon was Bond-Price.
Gazzmatt won the duathlon long course teams event.
