A family fun day in Ararat has raised more than $9500 to help two siblings with an incurable disease.
Ararat's Beck Stephens and Jodi Pitcher organised Sunday's Team TnT Family Fundraising Day at Alexandra Oval to help Ararat parents Ash and Jess Sladdin.
Their children, Tayla and Thomas Sladdin, were both born with cystic fibrosis.
Mrs Stephens, a close family friend, said organisers banked $9500 on Monday and Ararat Lions Club would make a donation too.
"We had a trots night in January, which was a bonus," she said.
"But the family fun day was our original plan.
"We started raising money in September and we are coming in at $18,500 in total, I think somewhere between that amount and $20,000 so far.
"The money is being kept in a trust account for the children's medical costs."
Mrs Stephens estimated 300 children, plus their parents, attended Sunday's fundraiser.
"The heat was a bit of a deterrent; it was 38.5 degrees Celsius," she said.
"But the event exceeded our expectations.
"It was fabulous and we have had such an exceptional response to it.
"We have had all positive feedback.
"Thanks to all of our sponsors and volunteers for their support."
Mrs Stephens said activities and entertainment included performances by Ararat dance groups, Stawell and Ararat musicians, jumping castles, face-painting, rock-climbing walls and market stalls.
She said people could visit Facebook page 'Team TnT Family Fundraising Day' for information about future fundraisers.
