Duchembegarra farmer Bob Mackley has found the tracks of an 'enormous' animal.
He saw the tracks while checking sheep on his property north of Natimuk, near the southern edge of the Little Desert, on Friday.
"They were not an emu track," he said.
"They were about the same size as a hand-span width, with four toes six to seven inches across and four to five inches from front to back.
"The tracks looked like a cat print, but were enormous."
Mr Mackley said he thought the tracks were made on Thursday night because of their condition.
He said he had no idea what animal had made them.
