Young golfer's perfect shot

Fourteen-year-old Lewis Gebert was the toast of the Horsham Golf Club on Saturday after he sunk a hole-in-one.

Lewis, who plays off a handicap of 13, shot the hole-in-one on the club's par three 11th hole during Saturday competition using his five-wood.

He said he was completely shocked when the ball rolled in the hole.

"It was pretty surreal when it went in," he said.

"I thought it was going to be a good shot when I hit it but it got a good kick and rolled in.

"I couldn't really believe it."

Despite his spectacular shot, Lewis described the rest of his round as 'fairly average'.

He said he had played golf when he was younger, before quitting and then deciding to start playing again two years ago.

"I was playing when I was little because my 'pa got me into it," he said.

Lewis said he played golf most Saturdays and would continue playing and working on his game.
