Julia Gillard and Wayne Swan were elected unopposed as Prime Minister and deputy at a meeting of the Labor caucus after a spill was called and they were the only nominees.
Ms Senior said she heard about the spill on the news like everyone else.
"I was supporting Julia Gillard, I think she has done an amazing job in parliament and think she could go on to do more amazing things,'' she said.
"The vote has now happened and there was no change.
"It was brought about because the opposition kept saying the people in the caucus were unsettled.
"I believe it had to happen to clear the air.
"It has happened now and I think it was a fantastic result.
"We can all get over it now, move past it and get on with other things.
"If the opposition have something to say now about policies, then let's focus on that instead.''

Member for Mallee John Forrest has urged on the Federal Election in light of the leadership spill.
Prime Minister Julia Gillard announced a Labor party leadership vote would be at 4.30pm.
Senior Labor minister Simon Crean called on Ms Gillard to spill all leadership positions for the 'future of the country'.
Mr Crean indicated he would support Kevin Rudd at the vote.
Member for Mallee John Forrest said the government needed to bring on the election.
"Frankly the electorate is sick of it," he said.
"We want the nation governed and not this focus on one's own navel.
"We are hemorrhaging as a result, economically and confidence-wise we are all going downhill.
"Bring on the election, quick smart."
