Darcy shaved his head three weeks ago for the foundation's World's Greatest Shave.
His grandmothers, Jan Neville of Hopetoun and Kay Hogan of Birchip, have survived leukaemia and breast cancer respectively.
Darcy said he wanted to raise money for the foundation in honour of them. He said he was proud of the amount he raised.
"I only thought I would raise $250 and I ended up with more than $2000," he said.
Darcy's mum Treena said he was now growing his hair so he could shave it again next year.
"He said he was not going to have another haircut until then," she said.
"We were hoping to raise $2500, but we were just short.
"We are also trying to convince his sister Rani to do it as well, but she isn't too keen on the idea."
