WIMMERA children will be spoilt for choice with an array of tantalising foods at Operation 19:14's free event on August 25.
Horsham's Oven Door Bakery is gearing up to provide gingerbread men for children to decorate, while Des Lardner Organic will have fruit kebabs.
The two stalls will go head to head with the children having the final say on which treat is tastier.
Des Lardner Organic owner Des Lardner said he was preparing for a David and Goliath battle.
"I am probably a bit dejected at the moment because I think the Oven Door Bakery gingerbreads taste better than most other foods," he said.
"I am not expecting to win but I am looking forward to putting up a good fight.
"We always love to showcase good health and it is a good idea to start when people are young.
"There are a lot of lifestyle choices we could change in the Wimmera and eating fruit is a good start."
The free children's day, at Horsham's Sawyer Park, will feature rides, activities and live entertainment between noon and 4pm.
Organising committee member Yolande Grosser said a team of about 130 volunteers was preparing for the day.
Mrs Grosser said the volunteers all had a Working with Children check.
"We are still getting more people putting their hands up to help, which is wonderful," she said.
"We couldn't possibly do it unless people were willing to help out.
"It is a wonderful atmosphere because it is all people who want to be there."
