ARARAT speedster Lauchlan Dalgleish is poised for an AFL debut against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Saturday after being promoted to Essendon's senior list.
The 20-year-old left-footer will be on the Bombers' senior list for the remainder of the season in place of Marty Gleeson, who has been placed on the long-term injury list.
Essendon football operations manager Steven Alessio said it was exciting news for Dalgleish, who was selected by the club in the 2012 AFL Rookie Draft.
"Lauchie is a speedy half-back, who has played some very consistent football over the second half of the season at VFL level," Alessio said.
"After being on our rookie list for two seasons, it is really exciting to see him given the opportunity of being elevated to the senior list."
Dalgleish has been in superb touch for the Bombers' VFL side this season, being named in the best five times out of 15 matches.
