THE MALLEE Mob has hit the road along with hundreds of fellow fundraisers, who are driving from Echuca to Broome in the name of charity.
Today was the beginning of the Victorian Variety Bash, the cornerstone of the Variety Children's Charity's state fundraising initiatives.
About 97 teams started the day on the cusp of the Victorian border, along the Murray River.
Their day will end in the central New South Welsh mining town of Cobar, which is about a seven hour drive.
For Wimmera men Danny Murray, Mark Ballinger and Noel Brown, the adventure started early.
They arrived in Echuca yesterday, well ahead of last night's welcome dinner.
"It took about three hours to get here," Mr Ballinger said.
The Variety Bash is scheduled to end in Broome on Saturday, August 31.
