WIMMERA Uniting Care has appointed the former head of the national Creche and Kindergarten Association Barrie Elvish as its new chief executive.
The former teacher has worked in the not-for-profit sector for 20 years, including with the National Trust, St John Ambulance and University of South Australia Students Union.
Wimmera Uniting Care board chairwoman Pam Clarke said Mr Elvish would start in early October.
"Under his leadership the Creche and Kindergarten Association expanded to become the second-largest early childhood education and care provider in Australia with more than 1000 employees in 400 services," she said.
"Barrie and his wife Karen are looking forward to their relocation to Horsham, exploring the region and what it has to offer."
He will replace Wendy Middleton, who is moving interstate.
