The news that Dimboola is in the Wimmera Football League grand final has reached far and wide.
Former Dimboola man Shane Armstrong was quick to get on the front foot while working in a copper mine in Mongolia.
''The Gobi Desert in Mongolia is an amazing place with friendly people who love home-brew vodka,'' he said.
Mr Armstrong is working 100 kilometres north of a small coal mining town called White Rock near the Chinese border.
''Along the way there are camels, dust and coal trucks all a bit dodgy,'' he said.
''All are keen Dimboola Football Club fans.
''With Genghis Khan on our side we are unbeatable Go Roo boys!''
Horsham and Horsham Saints face off in Saturday's preliminary final to earn the right to play Dimboola in the grand final at Nhill on September 21.
