POLICE, past and present, marched through Horsham streets on Friday morning to commemorate those who had fallen in the line of duty.
Horsham Leading Senior Constable Alan Pignataro said members gathered outside the city’s aquatic centre near Hamilton Street at 10.45am.
The members marched up Firebrace Street to McLachlan Street, before heading to Ss Michael and John’s Catholic Church.
A church service was at 11am.
Leading Senior Constable Pignataro said the Wimmera had not lost a police member in the line of duty since the gold rush.
But he said officers put themselves at risk almost every day to protect the community.
