HORSHAM’s Julie McIntyre will not only visit the Melbourne Cricket Ground for the first time on Saturday – she will also have a chance to win $1 million.
Mrs McIntyre won tickets to the AFL grand final clash between Hawthorn and Fremantle by taking out the Wimmera Mail-Times online TopTippa competition.
Winners of TopTippa competitions across Fairfax titles will attend pre-match and post-match functions and compete against each other in a grand final tipping contest.
The overall winner of this tournament will have a chance to win $1 million, with a guaranteed minimum prize of $5000.
The first 10 runners-up will have the chance to win $25,000, with a guaranteed minimum prize of $500.
Mrs McIntyre said she looked forward to her grand final experience, which also included dinner and accommodation.
The Collingwood supporter will share the experience with her husband, Ray.
“I’m really excited,” she said.
“I only entered the TopTippa competition because my husband and brother-in-law wanted to, but I’m the one who is computer literate. I was entering their tips, so I thought I might as well do my own.”
Mrs McIntyre is tipping the Hawks to win Saturday’s clash.
“Hopefully I’m right,” she said.
“The person who makes the most fantasy money gets to pick from 200 envelopes for the chance to win $1 million – sort of like ‘Deal or No Deal’.
“If I won $1 million I would probably invest most of it. I’d pay a few bills – and I’d like a new car.”
