A HORSHAM couple has become almost $225,000 richer after winning a division one TattsLotto prize.
The pensioners bought the winning System 8 ticket at Horsham Newsagency last week.
Newsagency owner Michael Vincent said staff at the store were excited.
“It’s huge for us,” he said.
“Everyone gets a real buzz out of it.”
He said the store had sold quite a few winning tickets over the years.
“Every time we sell one it gives everyone a bit more belief that winning is possible,” he said.
“Whenever someone gets a prize, whether it is first or not, it gives us all a great feeling.
“It’s great for Horsham too and someone is out there smiling.”
The winning husband confessed that he was so excited when he saw the winning TattsLotto results in the newspaper that he couldn’t contain himself.
“I yelled out to my wife outside, ‘I think I’ve bloody won TattsLotto’,” he said.
“I haven’t had barely any sleep since.”
The couple won $224,813.84.
Mr Vincent said he did not know who the lucky winner was.
The winners plan to do some home renovations with their prize money.
“We’ll spruce up the kitchen a bit and look at how we can invest some of the money,” the winner said.
