TWO Wimmera women will open their gardens to the public as part of a Relay for Life fundraiser.
Cris Semmler and Nola Hill and their husbands, Trevor and Graham, will host the open gardens to raise money for the Watts Price Accountants Relay for Life team.
The Semmlers live at 2 Nunn Court, Horsham, and will show established gardens featuring irises, perennials, poppies, foxgloves, deciduous trees and an alfresco dining area.
The Hills’ property, Orange Grove at 123 Keatings Road, Vectis, features a large country garden with sculptures, agricultural memorabilia and water features.
Mrs Semmler said there would be a devonshire tea at Nunn Court, while the Hills would sell iris bulbs at Orange Grove.
She said all money raised would support the Horsham and District Relay for Life team.
Mrs Semmler said it was the first time the two women had hosted open gardens.
“We wanted a fundraiser and we had the passion for gardening,” she said.
Mrs Semmler said people could buy tickets for $20 from Watts Price Accountants at 44 Wilson Street, Horsham.
She said tickets would also be available during the event, from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday.
She encouraged people to support the open gardens.
