THE World XI team prevailed over Wimmera by 21 runs in the ‘Hit Mental Health for 6’ Twenty20 match at Dudley Cornell Park on Sunday.
The match was played in conjunction with national Mental Health Week, which finished at the weekend.
Horsham Saints’ Sri Lankan all-rounder Thilan Kariyawasam, playing for the world team, was named man of the match.
Kariyawasam starred with bat and ball, the highlight of which was hitting four sixes of an Andrew King over.
King was awarded ‘Dud of the Day’ after a lacklustre performance with the ball.
Special guest and TV personality Nick Bracks, who played with the Wimmera side, said he enjoyed visiting Horsham for such a good cause.
“I don’t think my cricket skills were too fantastic, but I had a great time and it’s a great event to be involved with,” he said.
“I’ll have to spend more time here next time, it’s such a relaxed town with an awesome atmosphere.
“I made a few runs but didn’t get any wickets, it was a win for me just to not get a duck or ‘Dud of the Day’.”
