HORSHAM Amateur Basketball Association will celebrate its 60th anniversary on November 2.
The association will host a special dinner at Horsham Football and Netball Club rooms from 6.30pm, where it will release a book on the history of Horsham basketball.
Horsham basketball legend Owen Hughan, who is on the anniversary committee, said the book was being printed in the lead-up to the event.
Hughan said a countless number of hours had gone into getting the book released.
He said it was a fitting tribute to the association's achievements over the years.
"The stadium punches well above its weight in terms of achievements on the state and national stages," Hughan said.
"We want people to come along and celebrate what we've achieved in 60 years on and off the court."
The 140-page book is an in-depth look into the history of the association, starting with its inception, the building of the stadium between 1953 to 1970, paying the loan off from 1970-90, and the Horsham Hornets and junior programs from 1990 to present.
Profiles include Hugh Delahunty, Gary Bird, Terry Davis, Maurice Wade, Steve Bruce, Helen Pawsey, Kevin Dellar and Hughan.
Bill Lovel will be master of ceremonies on the night, with guest speakers including Delahunty, Dellar, Dennis Wiley, Bird, Hughan and more to be confirmed.
Basketball Victoria chief executive Nick Honey will also be in attendance.
Hughan said bookings were still available, but had to be made as soon as possible.
He said people could book by calling him on 5384 6232 or the HABA on 5382 0135.
