AN injured Horsham man is believed to have walked up to 12 kilometres after a car crash near Harrow on Sunday.
Horsham Sergeant Julie Bergen said emergency services searched almost all through the night to find the man, whose white Ford station wagon had crashed into two large trees along Edenhope-Coleraine Road at 10.18pm.
The man was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Country Fire Authority and State Emergency Service members joined police in a line search.
Sgt Bergen said the driver was eventually located at the Harrow football ground.
"He had walked there - the football ground was about 12 kilometres from where the accident took place," she said.
Paramedics took the man to the Wimmera Base Hospital, but he was discharged later that day.
Sgt Bergen said the station wagon had been travelling in a northern direction when it left the road.
It was extensively damaged and Harrow police found blood in it.
Police investigations are ongoing.
