HORSHAM College will host a family trivia night and silent auction to raise money for United States-bound students.
Come December 29, 14 Horsham College students and two staff members, along with nearly 2500 other Australian students, will head overseas for three weeks as part of a G’Day USA exchange.
The tour includes visits to Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco. Students will also stay with an American host family.
Teacher Emily Friedrichsen said the school had hosted fundraisers throughout the year to help cover trip costs.
She said students had organised cake stalls, barbecues and footy days.
The trivia and auction at Horsham Sports and Community Club on Saturday night will be the final fundraiser for the group.
Mrs Friedrichsen said the event would start with a raffle at the door, with Tupperware worth $400 as the prize.
She said the silent auction would include vouchers, a weekend getaway, handmade quilts and perfume.
Wimmera businesses donated the prizes.
Mrs Friedrichsen said the event was family-friendly.
She said it would feature games throughout the night, with special children’s rounds.
The event starts at 7pm.
Mrs Friedrichsen said people could book tables of 10, with tickets $10 each.
She said people could call the school to book.
