Bowls Victoria’s Geoff Glourity awarded the badges to Sam Wollermann and Jim Wright.
Wollermann joined Dimboola Bowling Club in 1980 after a long and distinguished sporting career in the area and was quick to stamp his mark on the bowling club.
He skipped a rink in Dimboola’s winning division two pennant premiership team in 1992 and 1993 and was also a Dimboola division one winning team member in 1994 and 1995.
Wollermann was runner-up in the Dimboola club pairs competition in 1995.
After moving to Horsham he joined Horsham City in 1998 where he was a part of Horsham City’s division two winning pennant premiership team in 2006 and 2007 and a night pennant winner in 2009.
Club president Ron Goudie said Wollermann was always at working bees and tended to the front rose garden.
“We look forward to many more years of bowling for him,” he said.
Wright joined Horsham City Bowling Club in 1980 and immediately had an impact at the club.
He has had many positions during his 33 years at the club, including president in 1989 and 1990, vice-president in 1985 and 1988, secretary in 2002 and 2003, along with being a general committee member for 22 years.
He has served as selectors chairman, match committee member, bar committee chairman, club coach and umpire for many years.
Mr Goudie said it was on the green where Wright had made his mark.
“He has been a club champion, runner-up on a number of occasions, club pairs champions four times and a member of the club fours champion team five times,” he said.
“Jim has represented Wimmera Bowls Division and region for 28 years and played in 16 Wimmera division one premiership teams.
“He is the member that every club would love to have.”
