HORSHAM Uniting Church will host its 11th annual Christmas lunch.
Co-ordinator Mandy Kirsopp said the lunch, at noon in the Horsham Uniting Church, was for people who were seeking company.
“These people include those who live alone, elderly couples whose children live elsewhere, often interstate, single parents without family support or travellers passing through the community,” she said.
“Rather than be alone on Christmas Day, this is an opportunity for people to share a meal with others in a friendly, welcoming environment.”
Ms Kirsopp said more than 100 people attended the lunch last year.
“We had a meal of roast chicken and potatoes, ham, salads, plum pudding, custard, pavlova and fruit salad,” she said.
“Santa even called in to say hello.”
She said Horsham Uniting Church was extending an invitation to the community to share lunch with others on Christmas Day.
Ms Kirsopp said people could call joint co-ordinator Jenny Payne at the Uniting Church on 5382 4380 or Ms Kirsopp on 0408 826 727 if they wanted to be a volunteer on the day or make a small donation to help buy food.
