WITH more than 25 per cent of readers' votes, 13 Queen Street, Horsham was a clear winner in the 2013 Wimmera Mail-Times Christmas Lights competition.
Owner Jason Hay and his wife Emily Friedrichsen used at least 18,000 lights in the Santa's workshop-themed display.
They have won a $500 voucher from major sponsor Horsham Plaza.
The couple's interactive piece is hand-made and includes an eight-metre-long mural on particle board on the front of the house.
Mr Hay said he was thrilled to win the competition.
"I'm a bit shocked. Quite a few houses put in a lot of effort," he said.
Mr Hay said the couple started planning their display in February.
He said it was great to see so many people get into the Christmas spirit and decorate their homes.
"Thank you to Horsham Plaza for sponsoring the event and the Wimmera Mail-Times for co-ordinating it,'' he said.
The runner-up was 23 Tucker Street, Horsham, with just under a quarter of the readers' votes.
Mail-Times readers voted online at www.mailtimes.com.au for their favourite house.
Horsham's Krystal Baker won the voter prize and received a Horsham Plaza voucher worth $100.
