For decades Jock has been a mainstay at the Horsham Golf Club and in the lead-up to his 90th birthday he has no plans to slow down.
Winter still regularly plays three days a week at the club and sports a handicap of 22.
Despite preparing to turn 90 on Boxing Day, Winter said he still remained competitive with golfers much younger than him.
"I've played golf for the past 50 years and I always enjoy playing golf, so while I am still able to hit
the ball I still want to play," he said.
"I'm still competitive with other people at the club and I've won a few bits and pieces during the year so I just like the competitive side of it.
"I'll just keep going until I can't go anymore."
Winter said one of the highlights of his career was playing in the international veterans golf championships in New Zealand in 1990.
His 90th birthday party will be at Horsham Golf Club on Friday.
He said one of the most special things about the milestone was being able to share it with his family who now live across Australia and internationally.
Daughter Merri, who has flown from Sydney for the occasion, said those wanting to wish Winter a happy birthday on Friday could stop in at the golf club between 3pm and 6pm.
