Sunday school co-ordinator Yolande Grosser said about 30 children made gingerbread creations, wall hangings or Christmas decorations.
“It was terrific fun,” she said.
“Every girl had a different take on the gingerbread.
“Some of them made nativity scenes, making gingerbread stables and Joseph, Mary and Jesus out of fondant.”
Mrs Grosser said the program ran for two hours on three consecutive Fridays.
“The children did a range of activities, such as craft and singing – and lots of eating,” she said.
She said the Kids of the Uniting Church in Australia – or KUCA – program would start up again in term one of 2014.
“The program is for primary school-aged children and there is a wide range of activities run by different volunteers,” she said.
“We’re hoping to build on it next year.”
Mrs Grosser said people could look out for information in primary school newsletters or call the church office on 5382 4380 to become involved.
