Of the 187 birth announcements in the Wimmera Mail-Times, Jack appeared five times, making it the clear favourite for newborn boys.
Jack was also the most popular name for boys in 2012.
The female population was less in 2013, with 80 girls versus 107 boys.
There was no clear front-runner when it came to female names.
Evie, Holly, Layla, Mia, Pippa, Zara and Zoe all appeared twice.
The trend shifted away from last year's female favourite, with Amelia not rating a mention in 2013
despite being the name of choice in 2012.
Traditional names remained strong contenders with boys, with Edward, Harry and Max rating well.
The year also saw the return of 2012 popular names Cooper, Jaxon, Oscar and Ryder and some new favourites including Alfie, Judd and Tex.
There were quite a few spelling variants, with Arlo and Arlow, Eadie and Edie, Harlo and Harlow, Jet and Jett and Kensi and Kenzie.
Denzel, Dustin, Felix, Harlo, Grady, Kobi, Lenny, Murphy, Parker, Sandy, Vinny and Zane also featured in the boys' announcements.
Old-fashioned names made a comeback for the girls, with Beatrice, Arabella, Elsa, Evie, Greta, Maggie, Olive, Violet and Ivy all featuring.
William proved to be the most popular second name for the boys while Grace was the most popular for the girls.
Goroke parents David and Georgie Buckley welcomed their son
Jack William to the world in January 2013.
"We chose the name Jack because it was my grandfather's name and Georgie's grandfather's name," Mr Buckley said. "So it was a family name, but we also liked how it sounded."
He said William was also a family name, because William was the middle name of both Mrs Buckley's grandfathers.
"It is a very traditional name," Mr Buckley said. "Everyone is different, but we preferred a good, solid name that everyone knows."
He said during Jack's first year of life, he had been a bundle of joy.
"He is a really good little boy," he said.
Entries for the Our Babies of 2013 publication have been extended. Parents now have until midday Friday to submit their announcement in this special keepsake.
